What we do

STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education resources are a very useful tool to facilitate the learning of these subjects. In STEM OnLine, we have proposed to compile some of the best and make them available to anyone who may be interested, whether they are students, teachers or simple amateurs. In all cases these are free and open access resources that can be viewed directly in the browser, without the need to install any additional software.

The resources are grouped by areas of knowledge: mathematics, physics, chemistry and earth sciences. The contents of each of them are divided into different thematic units. Although it will not be the most common, it is possible that the same resource can be found in more than one thematic unit.

Most of the resources are interactive simulations of mathematics, physics, chemistry or earth science. However, there are other types of resources such as videos, animations, 3d molecules or 3d images. Each of these types is easily identifiable by its representative icon:

These resources should be complementary and never a substitute for traditional forms of learning, such as the teacher’s lectures and books. For this reason, in each thematic unit we have also included suggestions of books or courses that we think may be of interest.

The origin and format of the resources is very diverse. We have taken great care to arrange and present them in the most appropriate and uniform way possible. We hope that the result will be useful for anyone interested in these topics and, in short, we hope that the effort has been worthwhile.
